About the Artist
Working in oil, with his wife Lily as his model, Shu Wu treats each canvas as a magnifying glass in a wind storm, focusing each painting on the part of the body that he wants the viewer to see.
His contemporary figurative work has been shown in the Mars gallery in Moscow, Sotheby’s Amsterdam and the Genia Schreiber University art gallery at Tel Aviv University in Israel as part of the Artlink-at-Sotheby’s International Young Art exhibits.
Shu Wu-Lin holds his primary degree from the National Hualien Teachers College and is an MFA graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design. A former instructor at the Gibbes Museum School of Art, Shu Wu-lin currently lives and works from his studio in his home country of Taiwan.
