About the Artist
“It’s all about the stone. I love the look and feel of the stone. I strive to coax the stone into a form that will draw others into the same attraction I have. If a person reaches out to touch a piece, I know I was successful.“ Stacy is a native of Belleville, Illinois and attended The University of Tulsa where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering and a quiet interest in three dimensional art. A few years before leaving her engineering career in 2001, she began some independent study and practice of stone sculpture. Since then she has attended various workshops, including those of sculptors Bobbe Gentry, Garland Weeks, and Philip Faraut. In addition, she was mentored by master sculptor Bill Snow. Stacy has been a full time sculptor since 2001. The artist divides her time between Texas and the mountains of North Carolina
