Kat FulliloveA new Orleans native and part time Asheville resident, kat Fullilove has been working in mixed media for over two decades. Her paintings are a combination of techniques using oil, acrylic, charcoal, conte crayon, graphite, alcohol, oil pastel, paper and guilding. Her inspiration is new Orleans. Her process is therapeutic for herself as well as for those who are touched by her work. “Our world seems to be changing very rapidly. One of my jobs as an artist is to express these changes. Through constant experimentation with technique I am able to portray these changes and grow as an artist. A few years ago I started experimenting with rubbing alcohol. Working with the alcohol enabled me to create the desired affect of many layers and marks in my work. |
