Tracy West“The metaphors I use are taken from the art of alchemy. Patinas, rust and distressed finishes – symbolizing the confused dreamlike state in which we live, are vanquished by an awakening symbolized by the clarity of gold or color.” Tracy is a graduate in fine arts from Miami University in Ohio. Tracy West is an artist with strong family ties to the Asheville area, coming from the lineage of original settlers whose homestead is now incorporated into the Pisgah National Forest. She now lives and works from her studio in Oakland, California. |
